From early 2008 until recently, the U.S gaming sector experienced consistent and often severe declines in year-over-year comparable monthly casino revenue – a statistic we believe is a strong leading indicator of gaming company profitability. Gaming – once considered “recession-resistant” – proved to be one of the first sectors to be negatively affected by this past recession, and may be one of the last to recover.
